Background
G&K Industries is an umbrella entity for a privately held group of affiliated operating companies, real estate partnerships and limited liability companies.
The first of 210 ownership entities in the portfolio was formed in 1957. It remains active in all facets of real estate including acquisition, development, construction, marketing, and property management services. G&K Industries is nationally recognized for its expertise in government-related financing and operating issues. Many of its properties involved the use of government assistance to leverage private capital in complex transactions structured to maximize benefits, ensure compliance with an intricate overlay of laws and minimize the burdens frequently associated with dealing with government agencies.
In selecting sites for both conventional and subsidized housing, G&K chooses land in economically-strong neighborhoods that offer a strong potential for appreciation.
G&K Industries’ most senior executives, Jona Goldrich and Warren Breslow, have been with the company since 1956 and 1972, respectively. Combined, these individuals along with the estate of co-founder Sol Kest own directly or indirectly a controlling interest in the company's real estate portfolio.
G&K employs approximately 175 people in its corporate office and has a total payroll of approximately 800.
